Internship – Summer in Maine

The Herring Gut Learning Center seeks a part-time Marine Educator Summer Intern to assist with maintenance and daily activities, field-based marine science camps, as well as organize and represent the Center at community fairs, lectures, and public events.  Intern will commit to 24h/week between June 14 and August 20. 2010; $10/h compensation.  For more information, contact Sara Rademaker (srademaker@herringgut.org)/207-372-8677.

Internship – Wells Research Reserve, NH

Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve seeks an Environmental Education Camp Assistant to assist in facilitating a series of half-day and full-day environmental education programs for children ages 6-9, weeklong sessions of Junior Researchers summer day camps for ages 9-12, and half-day camp sessions for ages 4-5. Internship – Marine Education, FL

Smithsonian Marine Station at  Fort Pierce FL is offering a paid summer (May to August) internship to current undergraduates and recent (within 6 months) college graduates in their Ecosystems Exhibit.  The intern will interpret in the gallery and at the touch tank, lead educational programs for school and community groups, assist education staff with three weeks of summer day camp, create educational displays, and other projects according to their personal interests, strengths and/or experience.  For a full announcement and to apply, contact Laura Diederick, Education Specialist (diederick@si.edu).  Deadline for applications is 3/15/10.
