Ocean Videos and Webcast during Earth Science Week

Earth Science Week is conducted annually by the American Geological Institute in cooperation with various sponsors, including NASa. The theme of Earth Science Week, “Understanding Climate,” promotes scientific understanding of the timely and vital topic of Earth’s climate. NASA resources and activities will be available to educators and students before, during and after this special week, which takes place October 11-17. Tides of Change: A five-part video series on the connection between ocean and climate will be posted during Earth Science Week. NASA’s Digital Learning Network will host a webcast October 14 with NASA oceanographers Marcianna Delaney and Gene Feldman on ocean science discoveries and careers.

Polar Week Offers Activities for Educators

The International Polar Year (IPY) website presents October Polar Week, October 5-9, highlighting classroom activities developed for the new IPY Polar Resource Book.  Polar Week will feature fresh accessible science, lectures, live events, fun classroom activities, virtual balloon launches and spontaneous global inter-connections.
